Messiaen's only opera, Saint Francis of Assisi will be performanced as part of the Holland Festival in 2008 and has been announced for the 2009 season for New York City Opera at the Seventh Regiment - Armory on Park Avenue, where it will be staged amid an installation by artist Ilya Kabakov.
