Olivier Messiaen's students include some of the most prominent composers, performers and academics of the twentieth century. Messiaen is most frequently linked to Pierre Boulez, Karlheinz Stockhausen and Iannis Xenakis, but these famous names are only a small fraction of his influence. The list below is compiled from a number of sources including his conversations with Claude Samuel in which he names many of his pupils. They are listed below alphabetically by last name. Additions and corrections are welcome.
